Some general interior design trends that will gain popularity in year 2024:
Mixed Metals:-
This trend allowed for greater flexibility and creativity in design. There are lots of opportunities to use a mixed metal light fixture in combination with brass, bronze, or even nickel. Mixed Metals aimed to create a sense of balance when combined together in an appropriate way. For instance, bold chandelier or a unique metal-framed mirror was a way to make a focal point and create a statement piece. Earthy Tones:-
Earthy tones are inspired by nature, with various shades of greens, warm neutrals, and muted earthy hues. This trend aimed to create a calming, grounded, and organic atmosphere within interior spaces. These are formed on the basis of neutral colour palettes like taupe, beige, olive, and muted greys. It gives a sense of comfort and connection to the nature, creating cozy living spaces. Use of accent colours such as deep greens, warm yellows, were used to create visual interest. Earthy tones can also be incorporated by using Textures such as natural fabrics, woven materials etc. complementing the colour palette.
Irregular/Asymmetric Rugs, Carpet:-
Layering of irregular rugs over one another adds depth and texture to the floor space. This adds an element of surprise to a space. Some irregular rugs were treated as pieces of art for the floor. Designers are Choosing locally sourced materials and supporting local artisans and craftsmen to reduce the carbon footprint and also reduce the cost of the project. This trend also contributed in showcasing the regional craftsmanship. Today Designers are educating clients about their sustainable choices. And explaining the environmental impact of different materials.

Texture &Bold Patterns:-
Using variety of textures on surfaces in interiors is a popular trend. The use of textures of walls, furniture or décor elements creates a cohesive look. Use of bold patterns on fabric adds vibrancy and personality to interiors. this can be done by using floral prints in curtains, using rugs of different texture, Upholstery fabric, throws and pillows create a rich and inviting environment. Textured or boldly patterned accent walls were used to create a focal point in a room. The patterns may be ethnic, modern or abstract as per the choice and theme of the space such as Moroccan, tribal, or ikat patterns, floral, chevron etc when placed properly create an integrated design. Can also do wall treatments using patterns and textures such as panelling, moulding, or 3D wall tiles, creating visually interesting and dynamic surfaces.
Geometry:-
Geometry is a fundamental design element .It involves the geometric shapes, patterns, and forms to create a sense of order, balance, and visual interest within a space. Patterns like stripes, chevrons, herringbone, and geometric shapes like hexagons or diamonds can add visual interest to floors, walls, and furniture. These geometric patterns can be used in bathroom and kitchens using wall and floor tiles creating a visual interest. geometric forms can be implemented in architectural elements like windows, doors, mouldings, and archways. A focal point can also be created using geometry giving attention to specific space of the room. Regular geometry gives symmetry and balance creating a sense of order and this often involve the repetition of geometric shapes. The use of geometry in interior design can range from subtle and traditional to bold and contemporary. It provides a versatile look.

Statement Pieces:-
Statement pieces are eye-catching elements within a space. These pieces contribute to the overall design aesthetic, add personality, and make a bold impact. These bold statement pieces draw attention and often serve as focal points. This can be achieved using bold furniture, lighting, wall décor, Antiques and vintage items, accent wall, unique décor, Mirrors, Sculptural elements etc. Unconventional or one-of-a-kind decorative items can become statement pieces.
